On Thursday, 27 August 2026, the world’s track and field elite will gather at the Letzigrund Stadium to turn the traditional meeting of the Wanda Diamond League into an unforgettable highlight of the summer. The action will kick off already on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, when the women’s pole vault takes centre stage at Zurich Main Station, delivering a spectacular start right in the heart of the city.
As always, Weltklasse Zürich presents a diverse and world-class programme that unites sprint, technique, and endurance – captivating fans both at Zurich Main Station and at Letzigrund Stadium with pure athletics passion.
For the men, several highlights feature on the Wanda Diamond League schedule: the 200m sprint, the 1500m and 3000m middle-distance races, and the thrilling 400m hurdles. Technical events will also shine, with competitions in the long jump, shot put, javelin throw, as well as the 110m hurdles and pole vault (additional).
For the women, spectators can look forward to an equally stellar line-up: the 100m, 100m hurdles, and 400m hurdles, as well as the 800m and the spectacular 3000m steeplechase. The high jump will add even more excitement, promising suspense up to the very last height.
Swiss Athletics Stars in the Spotlight
Swiss athletics fans can look forward to a home competition of the highest calibre. Audrey Werro, reigning Wanda Diamond League Champion over 800m, claimed an impressive and emotional victory at Weltklasse Zürich 2025 and will be eager to shine once again on home soil.
Simon Ehammer, also a Diamond League Champion and winner of the 2025 long jump final at Letzigrund, is set to deliver more spectacular jumps in 2026. And last but not least, Ditaji Kambundji, current world champion in the 100m hurdles, could provide yet another magical moment in her career at Letzigrund Stadium.
