Simon Ehammer is World Champion – and the new world record holder in the combined events!

Simon Ehammer made history at the World Indoor Championships in Toruń: with an outstanding performance, he crowned himself World Indoor Champion for the second time and simultaneously set a new world record – an impressive testament to his exceptional status in combined events.

Another milestone in an extraordinary career whose foundations were laid early on – at the UBS Kids Cup. This unique youth development project is supported by Weltklasse Zürich together with Swiss Athletics and main partner UBS. Simon has embodied the values of this initiative for many years like few others: his journey from young talent to the top of the world inspires children and young people across the country.

His appearance last summer also remains unforgettable: at Weltklasse Zürich on the Sechseläutenplatz, he created great emotion, an electrifying atmosphere, and goosebump moments in the heart of Zurich with his victory as part of the Wanda Diamond League.

However, his path to the top of the world was anything but straightforward. Time and again, Simon had to face setbacks – unfortunate fourth-place finishes, abandoned competitions, missed opportunities. Yet these very experiences have shaped him. Each time, he came back stronger – more focused, more determined, and with even greater belief in his abilities. This, too, makes him a role model.

Beyond all his sporting achievements, Simon also inspires with his likeable, down-to-earth, and open-minded personality – qualities that make him not only a great athlete but also a true figure of identification.

Today, Simon Ehammer stands as a symbol of what is possible in sport: with talent, hard work, and unwavering determination, even the highest goals can be achieved.

He is not only a world champion and world record holder, but also one of the most inspiring personalities in Swiss athletics – and an outstanding ambassador for Weltklasse Zürich and the UBS Kids Cup.

Congratulations, dear Simon, on this world-class achievement – chapeau to you, your team, and everyone who has supported you along the way!
