Pure world-class at Letzigrund Stadium

The final of the 2025 Wanda Diamond League at Weltklasse Zürich promises even more excitement: with Tara Davis-Woodhall, Letsile Tebogo, and Karsten Warholm, three more world-class athletes have been confirmed—guarantees for speed, drama, and unforgettable moments.

400m hurdles: Karsten Warholm – Zürich crowd favorite

Karsten Warholm is not only an Olympic champion, multiple world champion, and world record holder in the 400m hurdles – he is also one of the sport’s most charismatic athletes and a true fan favorite in Zürich.

He has already given the Letzigrund crowd goosebump moments on several occasions, most recently in 2024, when he went head-to-head in the legendary 100m cheer duel with pole vault superstar Mondo Duplantis. For Warholm, Zürich is a special place – and he returns with a clear goal: to win the Diamond Trophy at Letzigrund Stadium for the third time.

Women’s long jump: Tara Davis-Woodhall vs. Mihambo, Bryant, and Kälin

American Tara Davis-Woodhall is known for her energy, her unmistakable style, and her ability to deliver top performances at decisive moments. The Paris Olympic champion has been undefeated since the 2023 World Championships. At her first Wanda Diamond League Final, she is aiming for her debut title before heading to Tokyo as the favorite in pursuit of her first world championship gold.

In Zürich, Davis-Woodhall will face German Olympic champion (Tokyo 2021) and multiple world champion Malaika Mihambo, also known for her composure under pressure; her compatriot Claire Bryant, the indoor world champion making waves with impressive distances; and Swiss star Annik Kälin. The multi-event athlete from Graubünden has established herself in recent years as a world-class long jumper and excites the home crowd with her fighting spirit and explosiveness. This quartet promises a long jump competition that is likely to remain thrilling until the very last attempt.

Men’s 200m: Letsile Tebogo – chasing his first Diamond Trophy

Botswana’s sprint sensation Letsile Tebogo has taken the athletics world by storm. As the youngest 100m medalist in world championship history, he made headlines early on, and over 200m he has long been among the very best. At the Paris Olympics, he stunned the competition by becoming the first African to win the 200m title.

Last year, Letsile Tebogo thrilled the Zürich crowd with a victory – only to narrowly miss out in the Wanda Diamond League Final. The Diamond Trophy is still missing from his collection, and he is determined to change that in 2025. And where better to do it than at Letzigrund Stadium at Weltklasse Zürich?

The countdown is on

In the next three Wanda Diamond League meetings – in Silesia, Lausanne, and Brussels – the final decisions will be made in the battle for spots in the final. In several events, it will only become clear then who will compete for the Diamond Trophy at Weltklasse Zürich on 27 and 28 of August 2025.

The tension is building – along with the anticipation for the grand season finale at Weltklasse Zürich, both on Sechseläutenplatz and in Letzigrund Stadium.
