Funeral service for Res Brügger takes place on 25 January
Athletics legend and Weltklasse Zürich guiding figure Andreas Brügger has died aged 91 following a long illness in Zurich on Thursday morning. The funeral service will take place on Friday, 25 January at 14.00 in the Fraumünster church in Zurich.

Res Brügger received IAAF President’s Award
IAAF President Sebastian Coe presented the President's Award to VfG/LCZ Honorary President Andreas Brügger at the IAAF Athletics Awards Gala in Monaco. Brügger has not only made the World Class Zurich Athletics Meeting what it is today, but has also made a significant contribution to the development and professionalisation of athletics. The former meeting director is now 91 years old.

UBS Kids Cup supports the stars of tomorrow
In the summer of 2018, 155'683 kids took part in the junior athletics project of Weltklasse Zürich and Swiss Athletics - new record! This continues a success story that has already taken the first athletes to the top, named "UBS Kids Cup Generation". Read more about the successful junior project and about kids as future stars.

Final-Disciplines of Weltklasse Zürich 2019 announced
In 2019, Weltklasse Zürich will host the final of the IAAF Diamond League in 16 disciplines once again. Now it has been decided in which disciplines the winners will leave the Letzigrund with the coveted diamond. In addition to the Diamond Trophy, prize money amounting to 50,000 US dollars is also on offer.

25 000 spectators celebrated athletics in a night full of atmosphere and highlights at Letzigrund Stadium yesterday. Among many stellar performances at the first of two IAAF Diamond League was a new meeting record: New Zealander Thomas Walsh’s shot flew to a Letzigrund Stadium record of 22.60.
