Yelena Isinbayeva to be Back for a Week of Weltklasse Zürich!
Two years after flying to a new world record mark of 5.06m at Letzigrund Stadium, Yelena Isinbayeva will be back in Zurich this August. The Russian pole vaulter will compete at this year’s Samsung League final to be held on Thursday, 8 September 2011. The multiple Olympic, World, and European Champion will make as many as three appearances during the 2011 Weltklasse Zürich festival of events: In addition to her competition, she will be present at “Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse” – the meeting’s traditional kids’ event – on 6 September, as well as at the national final of the UBS Kids Cup on 10 September!

Yelena Isinbayeva kehrt zwei Jahre nachdem sie im Stadion Letzigrund mit 5,06 ihren letzten Weltrekord gesprungen ist, wieder zu Weltklasse Zürich zurück. Die russische Stabhochspringerin startet am Donnerstag, 8. September beim Final der Samsung Diamond League. Die mehrfache Olympiasiegerin, Welt- und Europameisterin tritt im Rahmen der „Weltklasse Zürich Woche“ gleich drei Mal auf. Sie steht auch für „Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse Zürich“ (6. September) und den Schweizer Final des UBS Kids Cup (10. September) zur Verfügung!

The event schedule for the 2011 edition of the legendary meeting holds promise of an exciting night of athletics fireworks, which will feature similar highlights as last year’s first Samsung Diamond League final at Letzigrund Stadium. Needless to say, the men’s 100m dash will again be one of a whole series of pinnacle moments at Weltklasse Zürich 2011. As in 2010, the women’s 100m, the shot put, and the traditional Zurich Trophy (a 4x100m men’s relay) will be staged in addition to the 16 final events of the Samsung Diamond League 2011 final competitions.More…
