The world’s leading female pole vaulters to fly high again at Zurich Main Station
After an immensely successful event last year, the world’s leading pole vaulters will compete again at Weltklasse Zürich at Zurich Main Station on Wednesday, 23 August. Reigning Olympic champion Ekaterini Stefanidi (Greece), world champion Yarisley Silva (Cuba), as well as Switzerland’s national record holder Nicole Büchler and U20 world champion Angelica Moser all plan to fly high and treat spectators to another fascinating show.

The Weltklasse Zürich 2017 programme of events
The new format of the IAAF Diamond League will premiere next year, and the first grand finale will be held at Letzigrund Stadium on 24 August.

Elaine Thompson shining twice at Weltklasse Zürich
Double Olympic champion Elaine Thompson (Jamaica; 21.85) first defeated world champion Dafne Schippers (Netherlands; 21.86) by a hair’s breadth in the 200m. And at the end of this year’s Weltklasse Zürich programme of events, she also lead the Jamaican 4x100m team to a convincing win in the Zurich Trophy.
