In 2019, Weltklasse Zürich will host the final of the IAAF Diamond League in 16 disciplines once again. Now it has been decided in which disciplines the winners will leave the Letzigrund with the coveted diamond. In addition to the Diamond Trophy, prize money amounting to 50,000 US dollars is also on offer.

Final-Disciplines of Weltklasse Zürich 2019 announced

The 100m final featuring the fastest men in the world, the strong javelin throwing giants and fast female runners who take any obstacle – they all provide the firework of athletics on August 29, 2019 in Zurich.

These are the disciplines of Weltklasse Zürich 2019:

Anyone who wants to go diamond hunting in the Letzigrund stadium must collect enough points at the preliminary meetings of the IAAF Diamond League. This is the only way for the world’s best athletes to qualify for a start in the seething cauldron called Letzigrund. The winners in the 16 disciplines are Diamond League Champions at the same time.

The new mode introduced in 2017 has meanwhile proved its worth and promises high suspense also on August 29, 2019. Cheers for domestic athletes are also guaranteed. Selected Swiss stars will be allowed to take part via wild card. The other 16 final disciplines will be held in Brussels on 6 September.
