The women’s 100 meters at Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich 2026 promises high drama and a very special showdown. On 27 August 2026, Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia and world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden of the United States will go head-to-head in the sold-out Letzigrund Stadium in Z\u00fcrich, bringing together the fastest women in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Few rivalries define international women\u2019s sprinting as much as that between Alfred and Jefferson-Wooden. While Alfred struck Olympic gold in Paris in 2024 and has established herself as a permanent fixture at the top of the sprinting world in recent years, Jefferson-Wooden enjoyed the most successful season of her career in 2025, claiming world titles in the 100 meters, 200 meters and as part of the United States sprint relay team, making a truly emphatic statement on the global stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Julien Alfred<\/strong>, competing in Zurich means returning to a venue filled with special memories. In 2025, she won the Wanda Diamond League 100-metre final at Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich, capturing her second Diamond Trophy over the prestigious distance. \u201cWeltklasse Z\u00fcrich holds a special place in my heart thanks to its unique atmosphere and outstanding organisation. World champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden<\/strong> will make her first appearance at Letzigrund Stadium at Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich 2026. The American has been in outstanding form throughout the season and most recently secured an important victory at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Eugene. The most recent head-to-head meeting between Jefferson-Wooden and Alfred came over 200 metres in Rome in June, with the Olympic champion from Saint Lucia emerging victorious. Anticipation is therefore high for the next chapter of their rivalry in Z\u00fcrich. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
