We look back on a year rich in emotion, sustainable commitment and unforgettable achievements.

Two evenings that truly moved us

In 2025, Weltklasse Zürich once again delivered two magical evenings that brought together athletics fans from across Switzerland and beyond. With the first part staged at Sechseläutenplatz and the second at Letzigrund Stadium, Weltklasse Zürich became the stage for international top performances in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
The combination of an urban setting and classic stadium atmosphere gave the Wanda Diamond League Final a unique intensity. Tension and emotion were palpable, the atmosphere electric and the cheers loud. Once again, Weltklasse Zürich celebrated an impressive festival of athletics with historic significance.
For the first time, two Swiss athletes won the prestigious international meeting series: Simon Ehammer (long jump at Sechseläutenplatz) and Audrey Werro (800 metres at Letzigrund Stadium).

Movement, enthusiasm and inspiration for the youngest generation

In 2025, Weltklasse Zürich was once again far more than just a meeting. Through its Kids & Family projects, the event sent a strong signal in support of youth development, community and sporting values.
The Weltklasse Zürich Extrameile reached a record participation, with almost 10,000 children from 14 cantons taking part. A sold-out final event at Letzigrund Stadium, attended by 2,500 pupils from four cantons, marked a fitting conclusion to a season full of enthusiasm and physical activity.

Another special highlight was Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse Zürich. Around 500 children were given the unique opportunity during meeting week to train with national and international athletics stars. Meeting their role models, training together and experiencing such close interaction created lasting memories and inspired many young talents for the long term.

At the same time, the UBS Kids Cup continued its success story. In the 2025 season, more than 150,000 children and young people from all over Switzerland took part in over 1,000 events held in schools and clubs – an impressive testament to the breadth and vitality of grassroots sport. The Swiss Final took place two days after Weltklasse Zürich at Letzigrund Stadium, allowing young athletes to run, jump and throw in the very same arena as their role models – an experience that proved deeply inspiring.
A particularly powerful source of inspiration this year was Ditaji Kambundji. As an ambassador for both Weltklasse Zürich and the UBS Kids Cup, she crowned an outstanding season by winning the world championship title, adding another historic highlight to Swiss athletics.

Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run sets new donation record

Another highlight was the Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run in May at Zurich Zoo – a truly special running experience for families, groups of friends and corporate teams. During the relaxed, communal run through the zoo, the focus was not on times, but on movement, enjoyment and shared experiences. In 2025, the event raised a new record sum in donations for nature conservation – a striking example of how sport, community and social responsibility can go hand in hand.

Weltklasse Zürich 365 – moving, connecting and inspiring

In 2025, Weltklasse Zürich once again demonstrated its broader impact: it is not only a stage for elite performance, but a vibrant community that moves, connects and inspires people. From the flagship meeting in the stadium to child-friendly running and competition projects and the family-oriented charity run, it became clear how sport conveys values, builds community and inspires hope. This year leaves a lasting legacy – in memories, in children who have discovered a new enthusiasm for physical activity, and in communities that have grown closer together.

[85
99,93

post-3317","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-zurich-en","tag-diamond-league-en","tag-weltklasse-zuerich-en
["GET
