In the area of social sustainability, Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich is proactive, working on a number of high-level projects throughout the year. And this year, Jugend trainiert mit Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich, the meeting\u2019s kids clinic and the country\u2019s most popular training session is back. In addition, various other firmly established sports projects for children and young adults in the city and region are under way, including the UBS Kids Cup, the Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich Extra Mile (a project for schools), and the Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich Zoo Run.<\/p>\n
During the Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich week of events, we will attach great importance to environmental sustainability. Our goal is to reduce our carbon footprint and thus emissions by working with innovative products and working on smart adjustments. For the first time, there will be a digital meeting guide instead of the printed programme booklet, for instance. The guide provides all visitors with updated entry lists, statistics, and exciting background information \u2013 all while avoiding waste paper.<\/p>\n
Reducing meat consumption will be the key word as far as our catering services are concerned: More vegetarian and locally produced food will be offered to both our hospitality guests and visitors at Letzigrund Stadium and to guests at meeting hotels.<\/p>\n
Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich has also had its services and suppliers reviewed this year. The analyses were conducted for the purpose of this year\u2019s World Athletics audit, a process that will be mandatory for all meetings as of 2024. Participating on a voluntary basis, Weltklasse Z\u00fcrich was the first meeting to undergo the audit already in 2023.<\/p>\n
